I used the program GeoGebra to teach a lesson on volume of a cylinder. GeoGebra is a mathematics software that can be accessed at https://www.geogebra.org or downloaded right to you computer. This technology software is a great resource for teachers of mathematics. I found that GeoGebra was a great tool to use to teach students about volume of a cylinder because the GeoGebra software allows teachers to create 3D images. Additionally, when students have the opportunity to use technology in the classroom, they are more engaged in learning. The lesson that I taught using GeoGebra was an 8th grade lesson which focused on finding the volume of a cylinder. Attached below, you will find two worksheets that go along with my mathematics lesson on volume of a cylinder using GeoGebra. The first worksheet contains step-by-step instructions on how to use the Online Version of GeoGebra to teach Volume of a Cylinder, as well as practice problems for finding the volume of a cylinder. The second worksheet contains step-by step instructions on how to use the Downloaded Mac Version of GeoGebra to teach volume of a cylinder, as well as practice problems for finding the volume of a cylinder.
